The group of guys that you select to be present as your groomsmen may not be the easiest of tasks. With all the people that come into our lives, you're sure to have quite a pool of friends and family to chose from to be by your side on one of the most important days of your life.
Here are some things to consider when choosing who to ask to be one of your groomsmen.
- Does your bride insist that there be the same number of groomsmen as bridesmaids? This may help narrow down your list - or have you scrambling about who else to ask to make up the difference.
- Do you have a female relative or friend who you'd like to be your attendent? No one ever said your groomsmen had to be guys!
- Having trouble choosing between friends or family? You can always ask one of them to be an usher at your wedding or to perform a special service, such as seating parents, reading a passage or poem, playing music or singing a song, lighting candles, or another duty as you see fit.
- Consider having your bride's brother be one of your groomsmens or ushers (in addition to your own, of course).
- When all is said in done, you're going to choose the person that's closest to you to be your best man, be it your closest friend or your brother. He should be someone you can count on and who's always been there for you. You'll be glad you did when the wedding day comes around and he's there by your side.
