Big Bay Balloon Parade and Festival
Big Bay Balloon Parade and Festival

The Port of San Diego Big Bay Balloon Parade glides down the Embarcadero with massive air balloons, marching bands, colorful floats, drill teams, horses, even racing wiener dogs. The parade takes place on Harbor Drive from Grape Street to Broadway, then goes onto Pacific Highway. Stay for a festival on Broadway Pier with rides, carnival games, prizes, and watch the two marching bands compete in the friendly Battle of the University Bands.

Holidays in Old Town San Diego

The annual Candlelight Tours return Old Town! Tour Old Town and learn how the residents prepared for the holiday season in the 1800s. Holiday singers and entertainment perform throughout the evening while State Park concessions provide complimentary refreshments. In this adult lecture and food tasting series, Aryln Hackett, food historian for the San Diego Union Tribune, explores ordinary and unique examples of cultural heritage that defines the diverse and rich history of the San Diego region. Featuring food samplings from Italian and Portuguese fishermen, this evening event will leave your mind full of history, and your belly full of delectable wonders.
