San Diego County Fair San Diego County Fair
The San Diego County Fair kicks off its annual season every June in Del Mar (North Coastal San Diego). The fair features exhibits (crafts, photography, art and more), carnival rides, farm animals, a variety of vendors and yummy fair food. Tickets are $11 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12 (free for kids 5 and younger) and $6 for seniors 62 and older.

San Diego Cinema Cinema Under the Stars
Located at 4040 Goldfinch Street in Mission Hills, the Cinema Under the Stars is back! Showcasing American classics such as Rear Window, Chinatown and Sunset Boulevard, this small and intimate venue is the perfect place for "Date Night." Doors open at 7:30pm Thursday-Saturday with shows starting at 8:30pm . Tickets are $12; a $50 season pass allows the holder to reserve seats well before. San Diego Balloons Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival
The festival takes place every year in early June. During the three day festival visitors sample local wineries, check out local vendors, listen to live music and watch the horizon for colorful hot-air balloons in flight. You can also make plans in advance for your own balloon flight.

San Diego Zoo San Diego Zoo at Night
Come see how the animals live when the sun goes down. Every summer the World Famous San Diego Zoo extends its normal hours to 8 pm . It's the perfect time to see those animals who live a more nocturnal lifestyle. During Nighttime Zoo most programs take place between 5 to 8 pm Regular admission prices stand, $32 for adults and $19.75 for children 3 to 11. Children 2 and younger are admitted free.

It's almost time for opening day! The the Del Mar Racetrack season starts in July and you don't want to miss it. Post time starts at 2 p.m. and ladies make sure to wear your hat. If you can't make it out for Opening Day don't fret, the season runs from July through September, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to place your bets. Also featured at the racetrack is " Four O'Clock Fridays" wear the party starts at 4 p.m. and usually features a band. First posts daily are at 2 p.m. and gates open at noon on weekdays and 11:30 a.m. on weekends.

San Diego Independence Celebration Oceanside Independence Day Celebration
Start celebrating early and head up to Oceanside for the start of the July 4th celebrations. Featured is the O'fest Carnival located in Mission Avenue and Pacific Street by the pier. The carnival runs from 10 a.m. through 11 p.m. On Saturday check out the Freedom Days Parade as it rolls by South Coast Highway, the parade starts at 10 a.m. so don't be late. Festivities continue on through Monday and with fireworks at 9 p.m. over the Pacific Ocean. Happy Fourth of July and be safe.
 
Old Point Loma Lighthouse Cabrillo National Monument
The park offers a superb view of San Diego's harbor and skyline. At the highest point of the park stands the Old Point Loma Lighthouse, which has been a San Diego icon since 1854. A statue and museum in the Visitor Center commemorate Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo's exploration of the coast of California. $5 entrance fee per vehicle. Open daily from 9AM to 5:15PM.

san diego petco park Take in a Game at Petco Park
Baseball season is here and what better way to enjoy San Diego than to take in a local Padres game. Petco Park is situated in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter in Downtown. The outdoor park is a wonderful way to spend an evening enjoying a game and the beautiful San Diego weather. After the game, you can shop and eat in Gaslamp Quarter.

Sand Castles US Open Sandcastle Competition
This three-day festival in Imperial Beach, CA offers a variety of activities for the whole family. The weekend begins with the annual Sandcastle Ball on Friday night. Saturday offers a street festival with over 140 vendors, a Sandcastle Parade, a Kids-N-Kastle competition and a fireworks display. The final day is when the offical competition begins, where professional sand carvers vie for the Master's Champion title. Professional and amateurs compete for cash prizes. The festival and competition start July 21 and ends on July 23.

San Diego Coronado Bridge San Diego Bay Ferry
Instead of a Harbor Tour, consider hopping on the Ferry to Coronado for a quick 15 minute ride across the bay. You can catch the ferry downtown at the Broadway Pier near the Star of India. The ferry takes you to Coronado's Ferry Landing Marketplace, where you can disembark and explore some seaside shops and restaurants. $3 one way, $6 round trip. Ferry departs daily at 9am and continues every hour on the hour until 9pm.

La Jolla Cove La Jolla, CA
La Jolla features beautiful seaside shopping and eating and some of the prettiest spots in San Diego for beach and coastal viewings. Located on the coast of San Diego north of Downtown, La Jolla offers a variety of activities and attractions for all visitors, including a downtown shopping area, the Museum of Contemporary Art, La Jolla Cove and the Mount Soledad Memorial.

Sand Castles Twilight in The Park Summer Concerts
For 26 years, Balboa Park has welcomed music lovers to the Spreckels Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park for free twilight concerts. Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, residents and visitors alike unite to enjoy music covering all popular genres. Concerts take place from 6:15-7:15pm. Free.

San Diego Coronado Bridge The Whaley House
The Whaley House is a cornerstone historic house and museum located in Old Town, where the history of San Diego begins. The Whaley House stands today as a classic example of mid-nineteenth century Greek Revival architecture. It was home to an early county courthouse, San Diego's first commercial theater, and Mr. Whaley's general store and has a reputation for being one of the most haunted houses in America.

Admission before 7PM is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, $4 for children 3-12 (free under 2). After dark hours (past 7PM) the admission prices are $10 for adults, $5 for children 3-12 (free under 2). Summer hours are 10am-10pm.

La Jolla Cove Live Jazz, Wine & Cheese
Every Thursday join the San Diego Wine & Culinary Center for live Jazz and ever-changing selection of wines, cheeses and cocktails. Each week feature wines from a single vinyard/winery or region, allowing you to sample wines from all over the world while enjoying a lovely evening of jazz in Downtown San Diego and enjoying the views of the Convention Center from their Sunset Patio. $7 flights, by the glass range $6-$20.

San Diego Festival San Diego County Fair
The San Diego County Fair returns to Del Mar, CA starting June 8th. The theme of this year's fair is "Salute to Heroes". The fair will run 22 days, from Friday, June 8 through Wednesday, July 4. The Fair will be closed three Mondays and two Tuesdays (closed June 11-12, 18-19 and 25). The "Salute to Heroes" theme will celebrate international, national and local heroes, both human and animal. Enjoy fair food, music, farm animals, rides, booths and a variety of entertainment.

Adults, $12.00
* Ages 62 and older, $6.00
* Ages 6-12, $6.00
* Ages 5 and younger, free
* Opening day is Dollar Day.

"Lavender blooms throughout April, May, June and July. Not all varieties bloom at the same time. Our seasonal hours have been set based on a typical bloom season. The number of flowers and amount of varietals in bloom is always dependent on the weather and is unique each year. Enjoy strolling through the various fields reading the numerous signs describing the different lavenders. Listen to the constant hum of The Lavender Fields bees busily collecting nectar for our delicious lavender honey. It's usually quite warm so a hat and sunscreen are highly recommended. Wearing good walking shoes will make your experience more comfortable."

Hillcrest Festival 5th annual Hop in the 'Hood (Hillcrest)
Join the Hillcrest neighborhood for a street fair and celebrate the completion of the fifth edition of HillQuest, an Urban Guide to 92103. Music by Sue Palmer, Sven-Erik Seaholm, Rhythm & the Method, Danielle Lo Presti, Alicia Champion, Shawn Rohlf and DA & the Hitmen featuring the multi-talented Laura Jane as mistress of ceremonies. The second annual Flower Power parade will be held at 11am. Cake will be served at noon. All are welcome.

The 5th annual Hop in the 'Hood will take place Sunday, July 8 from 9am-6pm on the 3700 block of Seventh Avenue in Hillcrest.

Palomar Observatory Palomar Observatory
The Palomar Observatory and Visitors Center is open to the public. The Observatory is open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily (except December 24 and 25) for self-guided visits to the 200-inch Telescope.

balboa park san diego San Diego Natural History Museum
The San Diego Natural History Museum is currently exhibiting the Dead Sea Scrolls, the largest, longest, most comprehensive exhibition ever assembled in any country. Spanning two floors and 12,000 square feet, 27 Dead Sea Scrolls - 10 exhibited for the first time ever - will be on display over the course of the exhibition.
