San Diego Father Joe Father Joe's Thanksgiving Day 5k
Start the holiday season off with a great 5k walk/run benefiting St. Vincent de Paul Village. All funds raised for this event goes directly to support of the St. Vincent de Paul Meals Service Program, which serves 1.5 million meals per year to residents and community members. 35th Annual San Diego Bay Parade of Lights
The spectacular boat parade of lights features individually holiday decorated private craft. The boat parade starts at the southwest end of Shelter Island, travels past Harbor Island, the Embarcadero, Seaport Village, the Convention Center, the Coronado Island Marriott Hotel, the Coronado Ferry Landing Marketplace and ends at the Navy carrier turning basin.

December 10th and December 17th. 5:30P- 9P at San Diego Bay. Free.

Festival of Lights - Wild Animal Park
This holiday season the Wild Animal Park stays open until 8 p.m. Enjoy live holiday music, sledding on Snow Hill, nighttime safari rides on the Wgasa Bush Line Railway, unique holiday shopping, lighted sculptures, and fun for the whole family. Free with admission to the Wild Animal Park. December 8 to 23 and December 26 to 30

Ice Skating at the Hotel del Coronado
The Hotel del Coronado gets in the ice skating game with an outdoor beachfront rink, frozen up just in time for the holiday season. A portion of the 2006 skating proceeds will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of San Diego.

Torrey Pines State Reserve
Torrey Pines State Reserve is located within San Diego city limits and yet remains one of the wildest stretches of land on our Southern California coast! Because of the efforts and foresight of the people in this area, 2000 acres of land are as they were before San Diego was developed - with the chaparral plant community, the rare and elegant Torrey Pine trees, miles of unspoiled beaches, and a lagoon that is vital to migrating seabirds.

Torrey Pines State Reserve is a day-use park only - no overnight camping and no food or beverage (besides water) allowed in the reserve except on the beach. There are parking fees for cars entering the reserve.

Chula Vista Nature Center
Located on Sweetwater Marsh National Wildlife Refuge on beautiful San Diego Bay, the Chula Vista Nature Center is an internationally recognized zoo/aquarium exhibiting plants and animals native to San Diego Bay and marsh/wetland habitats. Visit endangered Green Sea Turtles, shorebirds, hawks, sharks, stingrays, jellyfish, and more in this wildlife refuge.

Admissions prices: $6 for Adults, $5 for Seniors, Military, and Students, $4 for Juniors (12-17), $3 for Children, Free Age 4 and under.

Winter Barrel Tasting in Temecula, CA
With 20 wineries opening their cellars for your tasting pleasure, this event is "the one" for you and your friends to attend. Take the opportunity to sample wines from the barrel, enjoy samples of perfectly matched food, talk to winemakers, and explore the beautiful Temecula Valley wine region.

All participating wineries will be pouring Saturday & Sunday. Your ticket allows you to visit each winery one time over the two-day period, January 27 & 28, 2007. Tickets are $83 per person, or $63 for designated drivers.

Annual Chinese New Year Cultural Faire
Ring in Chinese New Year at a large cultural festival that includes Asian cuisine, martial arts performances, cooking demonstrations, a children's area, and cultural exhibits. The fair takes place at 3rd Avenue and J Street in Downtown San Diego in the Gaslamp District on Feburary 24-25th. Hours are 10A-6P on Saturday and 11A-4P on Sunday. This event is free.

Gaslamp Walking Tour
Led by a trained guide, the tour vividly recreates the late 1800's when the city near the waterfront fell into disrepair and the Stingaree district flourished. Learn about the marketing secrets of the naughty ladies of the Stingaree and discover the haunts of famous former resident, Wyatt Earp. The tour also highlights many of the best Victorian style commercial buildings constructed in San Diego during the years between the Civil War and World War I. $10.00 regular, $8.00 for seniors/students/military. Saturdays at 11AM.

Every year, thousands of revelers descend upon the Gaslamp Quarter to celebrate Mardi Gras in the Gaslamp Quarter.
