Creating A Color Palette...

When choosing the colors of your wedding, it's generally a good idea to go with the season. A deep rich red, doesn't really go with a July wedding, neither does a light airy pastel in the dead of winter. Most brides usually have a favorite season and will more than likely choose that specific time of year to have their wedding. In the odd case that you don't have a favorite season here are some helpful hints to help you plan your wedding palette.

Spring
Spring weddings are all about a new beginning. The colors that come to mind for spring are light yellows and blues, perhaps a taupe. It should be light, airy and have a certain sense of new life to it. The flowers should reflect this as well... If you have trouble deciding what colors to choose take a walk through a park and witness nature in all it's glory. You will no doubt be inspired.

Summer
Summer weddings tend to be hot and are usually held outdoors. Having a wedding in the summer should be a more casual affair and should reflect that in your palette. The colors that come to mind for a summer wedding are bright pinks, purples and deep bright blues. Take advantage of the bright blooming colors that represent summer and have fun with it.

Fall
Fall weddings are rich and earthy and your palette should reflect the boldness of the season. Deep browns and reds, buttery yellow and burnt orange. Light greens mixed with rich purples like eggplant Fall is all about harvest and romance. There is something whimsical about fall and the colors it embodies. It makes for a truly beautiful and memorable wedding.

Winter
Winter weddings should reflect the holidays and the colors that come with it. Dark greens, with rich reds. Silver, gold and white. Winter weddings tend to have a more formal look to them and are usually held at night. Candles, and lots of them, are a good idea when planning your palette. The light from the candles plays off the rich tones of winter and casts a certain spell over the evening.

Whatever time of year you choose to have your wedding in, the most important part of all is that it should reflect what is most representive of you and your honey.
