Fall Wedding Inspiration...

Having a San Diego wedding in the fall can be advantageous in more ways than one and here are a few ideas to help kick-start your Fall wedding into high gear:

- Use rustic, fall colors (think dark reds, rich oranges, and chocolate brown) in the scheme of your wedding – from the table cloths and napkins, to the chair backs, to the décor and favors. Use Fall colors everywhere to give a splash of warm to your reception and ceremony. Bring these colors into the bridesmaid’s dresses – perhaps a chocolate brown dress with an deep rich red sash and matching shoes? The whole look is up to you!

- Use simple baskets or wooden bowls and fill them with local, fall fruits such as apples from Julian. If you have time, you could even make a trip out of this – take your family and friends up to Julian for the apple harvest and pick your own apples for your wedding day.

- Give away caramel apples to your guests as favors. Alternatively, you could make your own Mini Caramel Apples to decorate your reception with (and serve as a tasty mini snack).

- Another idea for centerpieces and decorations is to purchase bundles of wheat stalks, placed in clear glass containers, for a striking and simple touch to the wedding’s reception.

- Have your flower girl throw colorful leaves down the aisle instead the usual flower petals.

- Use the leaf image as your logo for your wedding – use it on your invitations, table numbers, napkin rings, as the boutonnieres for the groomsmen and on your wedding cake.

Taking In The Day...

Before your wedding day approaches, things will get hectic. Things may stress you out and you may not know how you’re going to pull it all together when the day finally comes but what it really comes down to is not the small details of the day or things not going as perfectly planned. What matters is that the bride and groom are finally joined together as one to share the rest of their lives together. Don’t let anything get in the way of remembering this important event and the true meaning behind the day. Remember to breathe, to relax, to soak in all aspects of the day. Be sure you get to view the reception room before all of your guests arrive to appreciate everything and see the work that was done for you. Take a moment with your new spouse to have a quiet moment together after the ceremony to let it all sink in – you’re married! Above all us, enjoy your day and be happy!

Charitable Giving –
Donate Your Wedding Flowers...

After the wedding is all said and done, it’s not quite over yet. There’s the clean-up of your wedding ceremony and reception and here’s where you can take a step further and get a little extra use out of your wedding’s flowers. You can donate your wedding flowers to a church. Inquire if another bride and groom can use your ceremony’s flowers for their own for altar decorations or other church activities. You could also donate the wedding flowers to a local San Diego retirement home , long term care facility or assisted living facility, brightening up their rooms and providing a little charm and relaxation to their residents.
